How Does Autism Impact Learning?

Individuals with autism may experience learning differently than others. They may find it more difficult to interpret texts and literary devices such as metaphors, idioms, and abstract ideas. Autism itself isn’t a learning disability, but around half of autistic people have a learning disability.

How Can Families Be Involved?

One key piece of our services that we take great pride in is the emphasis on family involvement. We believe you or your loved one should have family support throughout your time with us; whether that’s learning new independent living skills or preparing for job interviews, support is key to success.

What is Considered a Developmental Disability?

According to the CDC, “developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas.” Whether or not you or a loved one is eligible for substantial disability services will depend on your state.
